Nokia Plans for a Surprise Smartphone Launch on December 5

The year 2019 is not done with the new smartphone launches yet. Nokia recently teased a launch event video via Twitter. Nokia’s brand licensee HMD Global posted a video revealing that the giant is expecting a new member being added to its smartphone family. The short video also unveils the launch date of the new range of Nokia smartphones as 5 December 2019.

However, the surprising factor to this announcement was that Nokia did not reveal anything about the model to be launched.

The tweet along with the short teaser said, “The newest addition to our family will be launched on 5 December 2019. Stay tuned to find out more!”

So Which Phone Is It?

We are expecting the smartphone to be Nokia 8.2 – a sequel to Nokia 8.1 that was launched on December 5 last year. This could make some sense! Rumours propose that the new smartphone can be the company’s first phone boasting a pop-up selfie camera and a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup. The previous Nokia 8.1 only had two rear camera lenses of 13 MP and 12 MP each and was priced at ₹26,699.

Another possibility can be a successor to the Nokia 9 PureView launched in last February at Mobile World Congress. Nokia 9 is the company’s flagship offering at the moment.

Apart from these two, Nokia can also unveil Nokia 2.3. This would be the follow-up model to the budget-range Nokia 2.2 that was launched in June.

Lastly, HMD Global could also launch Nokia 5.2. The smartphone is expected to boast a 48-megapixel rear camera and Snapdragon 660.

So, what do you think? Which one is it going to be?
