The IT major and technical giant Wipro open IIOT Center in Kochi this March. This is the third center of the company of its kind after California and Bengaluru.

According to Wipro, this center aims at developing innovative IT solutions for its customers in various industries.

The laboratory will develop proof of concepts and market ready IoT solutions using Artificial Intelligence,  Blockchain, and Robotics.

The center was inaugurated by honorable Kerala IT secretary M.Sivasankar. The Kerala fiber optic network was also rolled out and according to the minister in the next 18 months, the local stakeholders in the company will benefit a lot from the IoT deployed in the  Area.

Wipro offers technical solutions for IoT solutions ranging from sensors, computing, storage, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.

The vice secretary and the global head of the company Jayraj Nair said that Kerala in the recent years has grown into a technological hub that offers the access to the dynamic pool of youth with an aptitude towards modern technology.

IoT presents a huge opportunity in almost all the sectors of industrial corporate and personal lives in this hyperconnected world, and Wipro is confident that with the advent of this new technology the company will be able to benefit the clients as they marched forward towards the digital transformation goals.

Wipro had also hosted a two-day hackathon in industrial IoT on 12 and 13th March at its Kochi development center. The event was participated by all the leading colleges from Kerala. Wipro will be offering pre-placement offers to the winners who are in the final year of their engineering course and for those who are in the third year will be given internship opportunities in the company.

The new team will start joining the newly formed IIOT  research and development team in Kochi.
