Popular messaging app Telegram to release paid subscription service called Telegram Premium later this month announced by Telegram founder Pavel Durov.

Regular users will continue to make voice, video calls and send across large files completely free while users who will opt for Telegram Premium subscription will get a higher limit for chats, media and file uploads.

“After giving it some thought,” Durov, “we realized that the only way to let our most demanding fans get more while keeping our existing features free is to make those raised limits a paid option. That’s why this month we will introduce Telegram Premium, a subscription plan that allows anyone to acquire additional features, speed and resources.”

Durov said in the blog post –  Users who don’t want to subscribe for the premium services will still be able to enjoy the few benefits like they can view the extra large files, media and stickers sent by premium users or or tap to add Premium reactions already pinned to a message to react in the same way.

Developer Alessandro Paluzzi(@alex193a) on Twitter suggested that Telegram is going to change the tagline of the paid version before the launch of it’s paid version. New data strings shared by the developer include a new tagline “Telegram provides free unlimited cloud storage for chats and media.”  You can unlock the  additional stickers in the Telegram Premium Subscription.

Will dive deeper into the details about pricing when the subscription services launch later this month but as per rumors the premium services will cost $4.99 per month and come with faster downloads.
