Polygon lights

In this age of endless startups, very few people come up with original thoughts, especially in the electric lights industry that has been dissected and explored for centuries. Polygon light tiles did just that – they changed the way we view lighting and home décor. These lights come as modular and hexagon-shaped tiles. These tiles can be grouped together in any way the user sees fit and attached to walls. These lights are touch-sensitive.

The more tiles the user touches, the brighter the room gets. Polygon’s introduction to the market was met with roaring appreciation. However, the process to manufacture and launch these lights was tedious and involved a popular Kickstarter campaign. Now, the market is full of different modular touch wall light fixtures, but the original ones still maintain their allure.

Each tile is polygon-shaped with each side featuring a magnet that holds the set of tiles together. These tiles are made using white and light grey plastic. When lit, the tiles turn bright white. Overall the design is simple yet classy.

Using these Lights

Installing Polygon lights is a relatively straightforward process. Start with any tile and connect it to the power source. Before attaching the set, connect the rest of the tiles on a flat surface (any shape possible). As long as the tiles are touching each other and connected, their touch-sensitivity will auto-activate. Users can then hover or sway their hands on top of the tiles and see each of them subtly light up. Repeating that movement causes them to switch off.

To attach the set of tiles to the walls, owners need to use the adhesive pads. The electric power source needs to be in touching distance of the tiles’ cord. Once they’re mounted, and the power is plugged in, the room looks completely illuminated. Overall, the setup takes less than a few minutes. These lights are extremely energy-efficient. Energy consumption per module is 0.7W, which is insignificant.

They won’t cause any undue spikes in electricity bills. The adhesive tapes can be reused several times. Hence, users can keep switching the locations of these lights across the room. The lights’ unique colour temperature also makes them look cooler. Rooms don’t get heated when people use the Polygon Modular Light Fixtures.

Buying the Original Polygon

Like most unique products, Polygon has been replicated many times. While cheap knockoffs do damage Polygon’s brand, people who use both the original Polygon version and a replica can vouch for the difference in quality.
